Vladimir Filatov

Vladimir was born in Rostov-on-Don. He started taking violin lessons at the age of five in class of Professor V. Sheinkman. With the guidance of the Professor he continued his studies at the Secondary Music School and College of the Rostov State Rachmaninov Conservatoire and then at the Rostov State Rachmaninov Conservatoire.

At the present time he is the soloist of Rostov State Philharmonic Society and teacher of the String Department at the Rostov State Rachmaninov Conservatoire. Vladimir is the laureate of All-Russian and international competitions, such as theMikhail Strikharzh International Competition for Young Performers, the Demidov International Youth Violin Competition DEMUX, and Violin of the North International Youth Competition, Leopold Auer International Violin and String Quartet Competition.

Vladimir participated in the II Yuri Bashmet International Music Festival in Rostov-on-Don, Yuri Bashmet Winter International Arts Festival in Sochi as well as in programs of the Saint Petersburg Music House.

Vladimir is the scholarship holder of the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation, the Alexander Glazunov Foundation in Munich and the Government of the Russian Federation for young cultural workers and artists.

He took part in workshops and became an intern of the outstanding musicians such as B. Kuschnir, R. Kovak, D. Schwarzberg and others.
Vladimir performs a lot in Russia, Ukraine, Great Britain, Greece, Germany, Italy, Poland.
