Oukalin Yin

Oukalin Yin is a student of Professor Viktor Tretyakov (Berlin, Germany). She gives solo performances across China, the USA and Europe. Oukalin has performed with the China Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Yu Long, the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and the Wuhan Symphony Orchestra.

She started her education in the violin department of the Primary school at Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2004. She has been awarded with the Shanghai Arts Talent Scholarship and the Fu Chengxian Scholarship for her achievements. Oukalin was invited to participate in the Beijing International Music Festival as the youngest musician when she turned 14 and she also participated in the 50th Anniversary of Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto (Beijing, PRC).

She has been enrolled in the New England Conservatory (USA) in 2013 where she founded YUN piano trio with her friends. They performed at the 150th anniversary of New England Conservatory celebration.

From 208 to 2018 Oukalin has been awarded with different prizes in many competitions: First prize of the 1 CCTV (China Central Television) National Piano and Violin Competition, Third prize in the XVI International Youth Violin Competition in Romania, Laureate of the X National Youth Group Violin Competition China Culture Art Award, victory in the Bales Violin Competition where the prize is the right to play the Joseph Guarneri’s violin, Third prize of the Chappaqua Orchestra Concerto Competition in New York, Second prize of New England Conservatory Concerto Competition.

Oukalin Yin became the Heifetz International Music Institute scholarship holder in 2019.
