Aleksander Kornev

Alexander started taking violin lessons at the age of five and then entered the Kharkiv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School of the Kharkiv Conservatory, where he studied with Assistant Professor Vladimir Svichkarenko. He continued his studies at the Kyiv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School named after M.V. Lysenko and the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, class of Professor Olga Rivnyak. Alexander continued his studies in Singapore, class of Professor Qian Zhou, in 2013.

Alexander is the 4th prize winner of the Nikolai Lysenko International Music Competition (2012, Kyiv), the laureate of international competitions in China (2017) and the 3rd prize winner of the International Violin Competition in Singapore (2018).

He has participated in the workshops of Leonidas Kavakos, Boris Kuschnir, Petru Munteanu, Ivry Gitlis, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Valeriy Sokolov, Vadim Repin, Chaim Taub and others.
