Eugene Kawai

Eugene took his first violin lessons at the age of 5. He was admitted to the Toho Gakuen School of Music for Children, class of Professor Nozomi Terasawa in 2007.

He is the laureate of the LXIX Student Music Competition of Japan (2013, 1st prize, the Audience Award and the Music Scholarship), XIII International Competition for Young Violinists in Honour of Karol Lipinski and Henryk Wieniawski (2015, Lublin, Poland, 1st prize), the XVII International Television Contest for Young Musicians "Nutcracker" (2015, Moscow, 2nd prize), the X International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians (2017, Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan).

Since then he has played many recitals and been invited to perform with various orchestras as a soloist, including the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra.
