Eduard Wulfson

Born in#nbsp;1953 in#nbsp;Riga. At#nbsp;the age of#nbsp;9 he#nbsp;played his first solo concert at#nbsp;the Latvian Conservatory (Riga). He#nbsp;studied at#nbsp;the Leningrad Conservatory with Mikhail Vayman and at#nbsp;the Moscow Conservatory with Igor Bezrodny, and after moving to#nbsp;Europe, with Nathan Milstein, Yehudi Menuhin, Henrik Schering and Miriam Solovyova.

Laureate of#nbsp;international competitions, including the Paganini International Violin Competition, the Violin Competition in#nbsp;Zagreb, the Grand Prix des Beaux Arts in#nbsp;Munich.

He#nbsp;performed solo and in#nbsp;ensembles with such great musicians as N. Gutman, Y. Bashmet, I. Menuhin, I. Handel, D. Yablonsky, V. Grokhovsky, V. Sakharov. According to#nbsp;Maestro Menuhin, "Eduard Wulfson’s performance is#nbsp;an#nbsp;expression of#nbsp;the best Russian traditions." And he#nbsp;himself sees his mission in "combining great music, outstanding performers, unique instruments and a#nbsp;wonderful audience in#nbsp;order to#nbsp;raise the emotional tone of#nbsp;aesthetics as#nbsp;high as#nbsp;possible."

Leading consultant on#nbsp;unique stringed instruments of#nbsp;the great masters: Antonio Stradivari, Giuseppe Guarneri and Nicolo Amati, founder and director of#nbsp;Rare Musical Instruments Consulting in#nbsp;Geneva.

A#nbsp;professor who has raised a#nbsp;galaxy of#nbsp;world celebrities. Many of#nbsp;the musicians with whom the maestro worked have won high awards at#nbsp;the most prestigious international competitions in#nbsp;Paris, Brussels, Moscow and Geneva. Among his students: Alexandra Konunova, Mark Bushkov, has been working with Daniel Lozakovich since 2015. Christophe Baraty calls him "the most erudite, refined and sincere teacher of#nbsp;our time."

He#nbsp;is a#nbsp;jury member of#nbsp;major international competitions.
