Alexander Tchaikovsky

Soviet and Russian composer, pianist, educator, musician and public figure. Graduated from Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory in#nbsp;the piano class of G. G. Neuhaus and L. Naumov; composition class and assistantship-internship of T.N. Khrennikov.

Alexander Vladimirovich believes that the composer should not be#nbsp;confined to#nbsp;one musical direction, but should be#nbsp;able to#nbsp;do#nbsp;everything and be#nbsp;many-sided, because he, in#nbsp;fact, is#nbsp;a#nbsp;performer. And he#nbsp;confirms this with his own work, because, as#nbsp;one of#nbsp;the most famous composers of#nbsp;our time, he#nbsp;is#nbsp;successful at#nbsp;everything. The genres and subjects of#nbsp;his compositions are very diverse: from large-scale orchestral and vocal-symphonic works to#nbsp;comic operas. He#nbsp;is#nbsp;the author of#nbsp;oratorios, symphonies, musicals, instrumental concertos, chamber compositions, film and theater music. Commissioned by#nbsp;the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theater named after D.A. Hvorostovsky, the composer wrote a#nbsp;grandiose epic opera "Yermak" with massive large-scale scenes, lyrical duets and emotional arias, which premiered on#nbsp;the stage of#nbsp;the Krasnoyarsk theater in#nbsp;2019. In#nbsp;2021, his domra concerto with a#nbsp;symphony orchestra became a#nbsp;mandatory piece of#nbsp;the third round of#nbsp;the III All-Russian Music Competition (established by#nbsp;order of#nbsp;the Government of#nbsp;the Russian Federation).

"There must be#nbsp;creative impudence, the courage to#nbsp;express yourself. And you need to#nbsp;work hard#nbsp;— the more you compose, the more you accumulate techniques, skills, knowledge and … you recognize yourself, "says the master. The composer gives master classes in#nbsp;the USA, Canada, Germany and other countries, participates in#nbsp;the jury of#nbsp;competitions, writes critical articles for music publications.

Laureate of#nbsp;the 1st prize at#nbsp;the Hollybush Festival International Composers Competition in#nbsp;New Jersey (1985). Composer-in-residence of#nbsp;Kissingen Summer (Germany, 1988) and Nova Scotia (Canada, 1995) festivals.

Artistic Director of#nbsp;the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic, Chairman of#nbsp;the Council of#nbsp;the Union of#nbsp;Composers of#nbsp;Russia, Vice-President of#nbsp;the Authors' Council at#nbsp;Russian Authors' Society. Founder of#nbsp;the Music Festival "Youth Academies of#nbsp;Russia".

Holder of#nbsp;the Prize of#nbsp;the Government of#nbsp;the Russian Federation and D. Shostakovich Prize, laureate of#nbsp;the Yuri Bashmet’s International Charity Fund, Awardee of#nbsp;the Order of#nbsp;Friendship, People’s Artist of#nbsp;the Russian Federation.
