He#nbsp;began his studies in#nbsp;the violin class with G. Yampolsky and continued at#nbsp;the Gnesin Russian Academy of#nbsp;Music with professors M. Blok, M. Fichtenholz, in#nbsp;the quartet class of R. Dubinsky.

He#nbsp;has been working at#nbsp;Siberian State Academy of#nbsp;Arts named after D. Hvorostovsky since its foundation (1978). Mikhail Benyumov created the Department of#nbsp;string instruments in#nbsp;1982 where he#nbsp;worked as#nbsp;a#nbsp;head for 28 years. Mikhail teaches and performs as#nbsp;a#nbsp;violinist and conductor. He#nbsp;performed in#nbsp;a#nbsp;duet with the Honored Artist of#nbsp;Russia Larisa Markosyan in#nbsp;many cities in#nbsp;Russia, Italy, and Germany.

There are laureates of#nbsp;international, all-Russian and regional competitions among his graduates. Many of#nbsp;them became his colleagues at#nbsp;the Department, artists of#nbsp;the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra.

Mikhail Benyumov held many workshops in#nbsp;Russia and France in#nbsp;the Paris Conservatory.

Honored artist of#nbsp;Russian Federation, Honored Worker of#nbsp;Art of#nbsp;the Russian Federation, Professor, Candidate of#nbsp;Art History, laureate of#nbsp;the State Prize of#nbsp;the Krasnoyarsk region named after I.V. Spiller in#nbsp;the field of#nbsp;music. Awarded the Stradivari Medal and Badge of#nbsp;Honor of#nbsp;the city of#nbsp;Cremona for high professional excellence, development and strengthening of#nbsp;cultural affairs. Honorary Citizen of#nbsp;Krasnoyarsk.
