Aleksandr Kornev began learning to play the violin at the age of 5, then entered the Kharkiv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School at the Kharkiv Conservatory, where he joined the class of the senior teacher-methodologist V. Svichkarenko. He continued his studies at the Mykola Lysenko Kyiv Special Music Boarding School and the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music (class of Professor O. Rivnyak), since 2013 — studying in Singapore (class of Professor Qian Zhou). Winner of the 4th prize of the Mykola Lysenko International Musical Competition (2012, Kyiv), laureate of international competitions in China (2017), took the 3rd place at the Singapore International Violin Competition (2018). Has attended the master classes of L. Kavakos, B. Kushnir, P. Munteanu, I. Gitlis, Sh. Ashkenazy, V. Sokolov, V. Repin, H. Taub and others.
