Issei Kurihara

Graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts. Currently studying at the Toho Gakuen Conservatory (class of Professor T. Shimizu) and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz (Austria) under Professor B.I. Kushnir. Participant of various music festivals. Performed in Spain, Italy, Austria, Romania, China, Taiwan, the USA and Japan with the Altomonte Orchestra, Vienna Camerata Orphica, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra and others. He has collaborated with conductors J. Kazufumi, F.-P. Deschamps, J. Latham- Koenig, K. Koichiro, and H. Mito. Over the years, he won special prizes and professional competitions: Wronski International Violin Competition (Poland), International Violin Competition in Gifu (Japan), L. van Beethoven International Competition (Austria), Spivakov International Violin Competition (Russia), International Violin Competition "Rodolfo Lipizer Prize" and Rome Classic Violin Competition (Italy), and Classic Violin Olympus International Competition (UAE).
