The contest consists of 5 stages: try-outs and 5 min stages. The contestants will be chosen on the basis of video-recorded performances. 25 violinists will be invited to Krasnoyarsk to take part in the main stages of the contest. Besides the grand prix there are 5 lesser nominations and a special prize of Igor Laubach violin specially selected by Maestro Viktor Tretyakov himself. The prize fund is also bigger this year which expands the possibilities for the contestants: all try-out winners will receive a prize of compensation of all spending related to the contest.
One of the musical gifts to the guests and participants of the contest is a composition by composer and pianist Alexander Rozenblat "Siberian Blues". It was composed specially for the contest and will be performed by the contestants on the second stage.
