Established by the Krasnoyarsk City Administration in 1993. Over the past years, the Orchestra has represented Krasnoyarsk in Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Poland, Portugal and China. It has performed at the Valencia Music Palace, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, the Sforza Castle in Milan, the House of Music in Moscow, the Great Hall of the D.D. Shostakovich St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonia and many others; has given more than two thousand concerts in Russia. Along with masterpieces of musical classics, world, all-Russian and Krasnoyarsk premieres occupy a significant place in the Orchestra’s repertoire. The creator, permanent artistic director and conductor of the orchestra, Professor Mikhail Benyumov, has been heading the Department of String Instruments at the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Siberian State Institute of Arts for three decades. The vast majority of the Orchestra’s artists are graduates of the Department, often — Mikhail Benyumov’s students. One of the major Orchestra’s projects is the annual Krasnoyarsk International Festival of Chamber and Orchestral Music "Asia-Siberia-Europe". The combination of classical works and premieres specially written for the festival attracts not only outstanding performers, but also famous contemporary composers to collaborate with the Orchestra. For 25 years, the orchestra has proven its commitment to the high ideals of art, raising from year to year the level of performance, improving the ensemble culture. The Orchestra, along with its "veterans", includes talented young musicians, and this is the key to its future success.
