She began learning to play the violin at the age of four and a half. Since the age of eight, she is studying under the guidance of Chen Xi, talented musician and educator, winner of the XXII International Tchaikovsky Competition (2002). She is currently his student at the Middle School of Music at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. In 2023, she received a prestigious state scholarship, which is awarded by the Central Government of the People’s Republic of China to encourage young talents. From an early age, she has demonstrated her skills in professional competitions: laureate of the International Music Competition (the USA, 2018), International Music Competition (France, 2020), winner of the International Classical Music Competition (New York, the USA, 2021) and winner of the Special Prize "Young Talent", which gave Hanyue Zhang an opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall. Recent achievements include the 4th place in the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians (2023), 3rd place in the Joseph Joachim Violin Competition (London, UK, 2023).
