IV Competition

A special prize for the competition participants has been prepared by Daniil Austrich

A special prize awaits participants of the Fourth Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition, generously provided by violinist and conductor Daniil Austrich, founder of the Mindfreemusic platform. One fortunate laureate will receive a bow crafted by the acclaimed French master, Claude Chaber.
Claude Chaber's journey into bow-making began early, with visits to France's most prestigious workshops. His craft was further refined during several years in England, where he explored new techniques. Upon returning home, he established Maison Chabert, dedicating himself to creating high-quality bows for musicians worldwide.

Chaber's commitment to durability and excellence is evident in his choice of materials. He personally selects the finest Fernambuco wood in Brazil, traveling there twice a year to ensure its quality. His work is deeply inspired by the French classical tradition, drawing from iconic models by Sartory, Pecatte, Bazin, Tourte, and Richaume.

Claude Chaber's bows have earned widespread acclaim from musicians across various countries and are regularly showcased at international exhibitions, including Musicora (Paris), Musikmesse (Frankfurt), VSA (USA), and Mondomusica (Cremona).
The recipient of this special prize will be announced this autumn, as the Fourth Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition is set to take place in Krasnoyarsk from September 20 to October 1, 2025.

Musicians aged 16 to 32 are invited to participate by submitting an application form on the competition website and successfully completing a pre-selection round. The application period concludes on June 20. In addition to prestigious special prizes, laureates will be awarded cash prizes ranging from 200,000 to 1.2 million rubles.

Held biennially in the maestro's homeland, the Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Krasnoyarsk region. Winners are selected by a panel of representatives from the world’s leading music conservatories, led by Viktor Tretyakov himself.
