The results of the first round have been announced!

The following contestants have been selected by the jury to go through to the second round:

The contestants will perform duets with an accompanist, so it is vitally important that they have a good musical connection and can work together to create a masterpiece.
The contestants need to play a sonata for violin and piano and any virtuoso pieces. They can choose from the following options: sonatas of L. van Beethoven, F. Schubert, R. Schumann, J. Brahms, E. Grieg, C. Franck, M. Ravel, C. Debussy, R. Strauss, B. Bartok, S. Prokofiev and other classical and romantic sonatas as well as any virtuoso pieces by N. Paganini, F. Schubert, G. Wieniawski, K. Saint Saens, E. Ysaÿe, M. Ravel, W. Ernst, P. de Sarasate, Ph. Wachsmann and other composers
Furthermore, this year the programme includes a special composition for all twelve of the second-round contestants to perform: Romance in B-flat major for violin and piano by jury member Roman Kim.
The official accompanists for the 2nd round, who will perform alongside the contestants, are Anna Tamarkina and Alexandra Volkova.
Anna Tamarkina is a highly accomplished accompanist and prize winner of numerous competitions. She teaches at the Gnessin Special Music School, the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and the Maimonides State Classical Academy. This will be the second time that Anna has performed as an accompanist at the Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition.
Alexandra Volkova is a prize-winner of many international competitions. She performs as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist. Since 2024, she has been a teacher and accompanist at the Sirius Secondary Specialised Music School of the Talent and Success Educational Foundation.
Several contestants also arrived with their accompanists.
