He is the president of the International Violin Competition in Krasnoyarsk, one of the most interesting violinists in the world and truly is a symbol of the Russian violin school. He is a professional that has an incredible artistic energy and deep understanding of the author’s intentions.
He was born in Krasnoyarsk. Being an infant prodigy, Viktor went to Moscow to study with the legendary teacher Yuri Yankelevich at the age of eight. He graduated from school, conservatory and PhD program with honours.
Viktor Tretyakov won the first prize at the III International Tchaikovsky Competition being a student at the conservatory and his career as a performer has begun since that moment. He successfully performs as a soloist all over the world, works as a conductor and combines tours with teaching. Professor at the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Siberian State Academy of Arts. Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts. President of the Music Foundation named after Y. I.
