Maxim Vengerov

Maxim Vengerov is one of the most versatile artists of our time. He has performed as a soloist in the legendary halls of the world with the best orchestras under the baton of great conductors. He has also performed with great musicians of the past such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Georg Solti, Yehudi Menuhin, Carlo Maria Giulini. Winning prestigious violin competitions, Maxim Vengerov recorded an extensive violin repertoire and received a number of top recording awards, including two Grammys. He was awarded the GLORIA Prize established by Mstislav Rostropovich, and Dmitri Shostakovich Award presented by Yuri Bashmet Foundation. Films have been created about the artist, including Playing By Heart, shown at the Cannes Film Festival.

Maxim Vengerov started working as a conductor several years ago. He has studies with Professor Yury Simonov since 2009. Maxim Vengerov performed with chamber ensembles as his first successful experience, including the Verbier Festival Orchestra.

He made his debut with the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra in a concert on Red Square in 2007. Today, Maxim Vengerov collaborates with orchestras from around the world. He is also head of the new Gstaad Menuhin Festival Orchestra (Switzerland).

Maxim Vengerov is the first among classical musicians who became the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

Maxim Vengerov is a Professor at the Saarland School of Music, Professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London; Musicians of the Future a specialized music school in Migdal (Israel) was created under his patronage.
