The IV Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition has opened

The opening ceremony of the IV Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition took place in Krasnoyarsk.

Viktor Tretyakov, People’s Artist of the USSR, President and Chairman of the Competition Jury, addressed the participants with a farewell speech.
Dear fellow citizens and residents of Krasnoyarsk,
I am delighted to see you all here in this hall. I am sure that your support will create a wonderful, festive atmosphere during the competition. Thank you very much!
Dear young colleagues and contestants, you have several challenging days of competition and performances ahead of you. However, I am sure that this will support and encourage you, rather than hinder you. I wish you great success in this competition and in the future!
The competition was opened by Arkady Zinov Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk region.
I am delighted that one of the world’s most prestigious international violin competitions is taking place in the hospitable Krasnoyarsk region!

We would like to express our gratitude to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region for their support. Krasnoyarsk being the birthplace of the legendary contemporary violinist Viktor Tretyakov, a leading figure in the Russian violin school, also made this possible.

The competition provides residents of our city with the opportunity to enjoy the most virtuoso violin performances by artists from around the world, while also providing our musicians with an opportunity to connect with our renowned citizen.

I have enjoyed watching the competition evolve over the years and seeing how it has provided a valuable start for many participants. I believe that, once again, we will see a new name emerge in the world of violin art this year!
