The jury of the IV Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition has been announced
The jury of the prestigious music competition, which will take place this autumn, includes outstanding violinists of our time and world-famous cultural figures. The maestro’s small homeland will gather the strongest young performers from different countries on the Siberian stage.
Traditionally, the work of the experts is led by Viktor Tretyakov, president of the competition, People’s Artist of the USSR, honorary citizen of Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk region. Together with him, the talent and skill of the participants will be assessed by:
Natalia Likhopoy, artistic director and ideological inspirer of the сompetition, professor of the Moscow Academy of Performing Arts;
Vadim Repin, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, laureate of international competitions, exclusive artist of the legendary label Deutsche Grammophon;
Vera Tsu Weiling (China), tenured professor of the Hong Kong Chinese University (Shenzhen) Conservatory, professor of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and Shanghai Conservatory of Music;
Pavel Milyukov, Knight of the Order of Friendship, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, laureate of international competitions;
Fabio Mastrangelo (Russia / Italy), Honored Artist of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Officer of the Order of the Star of Italy, Artistic Director of the "Shaliapin" St. Petersburg State Musical Theatre, Principal Conductor of the "Sinfonica ARTica" of the Yakutsk State Philharmonic and the Moscow Symphony Orchestra "Russian Philharmonic", President of the "Foundation for the Development of the Musical Art";
Mikhail Benyumov, Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, PhD Candidate in Art History, founder, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra, honorary citizen of Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk region;
Daniel Austrich (Russia / Germany), violinist, conductor, educator, disciples of Viktor Tretyakov and one of the most interesting performers of our time, according to the European press, associate professor at the University of Music in Cologne and visiting professor at the University of Music in Karlsruhe;
Roman Kim (Germany / Kazakhstan), virtuoso violinist, sought-after composer, inventor of new violin playing techniques and various musical accessories.
This year, one of the mandatory works in the competition program is a romance for violin and piano written by Roman Kim. At the competition second round we will discover the most sensual interpretation and technical performance by the opinion of the composer.
It should be noted that in addition to assessing the performances of the participants, the jury members have the right to establish special prizes. Daniel Austrich has already announced his intention to present the French master bow to the musician who will impress him the most. Viktor Tretyakov and Natalia Likhopoy will organize a performance in the Gasteig (cultural center in Munich, Germany) for one of the contestants. The total prize fund of the competition is more than 5 million rubles.
Let us recall that the IV International Viktor Tretyakov Violin Competition will be held from September 20 to October 1, 2025 in Krasnoyarsk. 25 young talents aged from 16 to 32 will compete for the honorable right to receive the main award from the hands of Viktor Tretyakov, the legend of the Russian violin school. Musicians are admitted to the competition after the preselection round. The geography of the competition is extensive: representatives from China, Japan, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Russia, the UK and the USA will perform in the first round.

The competition is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Krasnoyarsk region.
