Jury members held workshops for Competition participants.
The participants who didn’t get to the third round took part in the workshops of the Jury members of the II Viktor Tretyakov international Violin Competition in the Small Academic Concert Hall of the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Siberian State Academy of Arts on September 26.
Ilya Kaler, Boris Kuschnir and Mikhail Benyumov rshared their knowledge of the violin performing art to Olga Artyugina, Yuran Cai and Vladimir Filatov. Honoured masters discussed the question of physiology and correct hands posture, intricacies of sound production, bow position, methods of pressure, and shock absorption. The subtleties of microdynamics, strokes, rhythm, melismas, the ratio of pauses, and small durations in works of different eras. They also discussed the distribution of fingering, sound volume, and vibrato, the inertial movement of fingers with a bow, - according to the website of the Academy.
Let us remind you that the six participants reached the final round, that will be held on September 29-30. The participants will perform with the Siberian State Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Vladimir Lande. Finalists will perform the concerts of Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Beethoven, Shostakovich, Korngold. You can follow the performances of the participants and support them online.
