III Competition

Bow for the first violin

A special prize for the winner of the III International Violin Competition Viktor Tretyakov was prepared by Alexander Betz, teacher, orchestra player, collector and owner of a German company for tuning and selling musical instruments. A connoisseur of ancient instruments will give the strongest participant in competition a rare bow made by the Knopf dynasty of masters.
“The performer who received the prize at the competition of Viktor Tretyakov, outstanding Russian violinist of the 20th and 21st centuries, is worthy of the bow of Friedrich Knopf, outstanding German master of the 19th century,” believes Alexander Betz.
The Knopf bows are prestigious objects for concert musicians. For a long time, the master supplied the highest quality products to Nikolai Kittel, the famous Russian manufacturer and seller of musical instruments. The Knopf bows were used by the great virtuosos Ole Bull and Josef Joachim.
We will find out who will become the owner of the exquisite gift in the autumn. III International Viktor Tretyakov Violin Competition will take place from September 20 to October 1, 2023 in Krasnoyarsk.
Musicians aged 16 to 32 can take part in the competition by filling out an application form on the website of the Tretyakov Violin Competition and passing the absentee preselection round. The application campaign will last until June 20.
In addition to a special prize, the laureates are provided with cash prizes ranging from 200,000 to 1.2 million rubles.
