On behalf of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, I welcome you to the III Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition, which traditionally takes place in the maestro's homeland.
This competition is one of the largest violin competitions, where young performers have a chance to express themselves and gain wide recognition. As part of the preliminary selection, musicians from 15 countries competed in musical art, and the 25 most talented were selected by the jury to participate in the main round. These are young talents from Russia, Kazakhstan, China, the Republic of Korea, Japan and Slovenia. The semi-finals of the competition will determine the 8 strongest violinists, whose performances will be watched not only by respected members of the jury, but also by the public.
I wish the participants good luck, inspiration and bright musical discoveries at this wonderful competition. Let your creativity touch the hearts of your listeners and give them unforgettable emotions!

It has become a good tradition that the most talented violinists from all over the world gather in a musical competition in the birthplace of the distinguished virtuoso of the violin school, People’s Artist of the USSR Viktor Tretyakov. All of the participants are united in their love for music and bravery in achieving their ambitions. So let this competition unveil new talents for us and become an additional impulse for further personal progress and success for each participant!
As part of the second and third rounds of the competition, the guests will be treated with a pleasant surprise: with some help from our accomplished musicians, the participants will perform works by the great Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, whose 150th anniversary is celebrated this year by the whole country, along with other well-known musical pieces.

Musicians from all over the world aged 16 to 32 may take part in the competition.
The Jury of the competition includes outstanding violinists of our time. Most of them are members of the Jury of the International Tchaikovsky Competition and professors of the largest music universities in the world. The Jury is headed by the world-famous musician Viktor Tretyakov.
The competition is held once every two years.
The competition consists of 5 rounds - a qualifying round and four main rounds. The applicants are chosen by submitted videos. The top 25 violinists are invited to participate in the main rounds of the competition that will be held in Krasnoyarsk from September 20 to October 1, 2021
