There are no words to describe the meaning of the Competition for the discovery and support of young talents as well as for mastering their professional skills and development of the international cultural cooperation. The entry list includes participants from all over the world and many regions of Russia. It will provide us with an opportunity to strengthen business and personal contacts and exchange valuable experience.

The love of music, persistence towards their goals and the desire to prove themselves — truly unite all the participants. I am sure that each contestant has a chance to win.

I am glad to welcome the participants and guests of the II Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition!

Once again brilliant musicians, holders of prestigious awards will gather in the very heart of Siberia. It is a great honour to welcome young talented musicians from 13 countries together with our compatriot, outstanding violinist of our time, People's Artist of the USSR — Viktor Tretyakov. Krasnoyarsk will truly become the centre of the world music culture during the Competition.

Each participant will get a chance to prove oneself whether the Jury faces a very difficult task to determine the best of the best.

I wish all the participants to be inspired, have good luck and achieve great results. I am sure that this Competition will make them gain new professional perspectives in the music world as well as create only fond memories about our region.

I would like to welcome the Organizing Committee and the participants of the II Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition which is becoming the landmark of the Krasnoyarsk region and it has already become one of the most important music events of the Russian Federation.

Viktor Tretyakov is the legend of the Russian violin school and is famous for his virtuoso violin skills and unique stage energy. These qualities attract a lot of music enthusiasts from all over the world.

I am glad to know that the native city of maestro will become the capital of violin music for a couple of days, where the most talented musicians from all over the globe will gather to show their skills, gain new experience and find inspiration for professional growth.

I am sure that the II Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition will open new names in the world of music, strengthen international relations and intercultural dialogue.

I would like to wish good luck to all of the participants, as well as to spectators to experience positive emotions that leave good memories.

I am honoured and happy to be a part of such an important cultural event as the II Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition.

I hardly can imagine something more inspiring than a request to compose a piece to perform at the II round of the Competition, that will be learned by all of the participants and performed by the best of the best.

The piece is called Siberian Blues. I hope participants and spectators will like it, including Krasnoyarsk citizens. I dedicate this work to my friend and one of the biggest violinists not only of our time but of the whole violin art history — Viktor Tretyakov.
